After studying at the University of Miami, Bruce North moved to New York where he received a graduate certificate from the School of Visual Arts. He then spent two years at the Brooklyn Museum School, followed by classes the Art Students League. North also earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY Empire State.
A popular teacher, Bruce North has been an instructor at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and Ithaca College.
North’s exhibition credits include the FAR Gallery and the Grand Central Art Galleries in New York, Kenmore Gallery, Philadelphia, the Brooklyn Museum; Doll and Richards, Cambridge, MA, the National Arts Club and the National Academy of Design, NYC.
The artist is an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and ballroom dancer. His artwork is concerned with all of the above except (until now) tripping to the light fantastic.
